Snoring & Sleep Apnea

Better quality of life through better sleep and improved breathing.
Snoring & Sleep Apnea - Utah

Snoring is a common sign of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition that affects 18 million Americans. If left untreated, obstructive sleep apnea poses serious threats to your health. It can increase your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke as well as damage your immune system.

Only about 10% of people with sleep apnea are diagnosed, because the most telling symptoms occur while you’re asleep. You stop breathing hundreds of times throughout the night. Such episodes may last anywhere from 10 seconds to more than a minute and only end when you awaken.

Snoring and sleep apnea are typically caused from a collapse of the airway – anywhere from the nose to the windpipe. As a highly trained ear, nose and throat– head and neck surgeon, Dr. Paul Doxey is uniquely qualified to provide a complete evaluation of a patient’s own particular anatomy to ascertain the actual site(s) of collapse or obstruction. The latest technology, including endoscopes and CT scans, are utilized. Once the evaluation is complete, a treatment plan is offered that best suits the individual patient. The goal is to open the collapsing airway from the nose on down to maintain unrestricted breathing during sleep.

Snoring and sleep apnea are treatable conditions. That’s why prompt care is so important. As an ENT specialist located in St. George, Utah, Dr. G. Paul Doxey is skilled in an array of treatment options for snoring and sleep apnea.
